YKS exam preparation is private tutoring and coaching for the TYT, AYT and YDT sessions of the Higher Education Institutions Exam, Türkiye's university entrance exam. Closing gaps in topics matters, but so do regular practice tests, analysis of wrong answers and time management. A subject tutor focuses on one course, while an education coach manages the student's overall roadmap through study schedules, motivation and practice-test tracking. The score type and priority subjects are chosen together according to the student's target degree programme.
What to check when hiring for YKS exam preparation
- Decide the target programme and score type early; the study plan depends on them.
- Share recent practice-test results and the pattern of wrong answers with the tutor.
- Decide together whether you need subject tutoring, coaching or both.
- Follow ÖSYM's current official announcements for exam dates, session structure and syllabus.
- Agree how often the weekly plan and progress report will be shared with parents.
YKS exam preparation: frequently asked questions
When is the latest a student should start preparing for YKS?
There is no fixed answer; the student's gaps and goals decide it. Starting early leaves more time for revision and practice tests, but consistency matters more than duration.
Is private tutoring enough instead of a prep school?
For some students, yes. Tutoring targets the student's weak topics; the need for a group setting and competition can be met separately with practice exams.
What does an education coach do?
They build the study schedule, analyse practice-test results, plan how much time goes to each subject and keep track of motivation; teaching the topics themselves is usually left to subject tutors.
