Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This policy explains in plain language who can see the information you share on Serbest İş (serbestis.com). For the legal details, see the Privacy Notice (KVKK).

What is public

  • Your expert profile — appears in the expert list and in search engines only if you tick "Publish my profile in the list". If you don't, your profile page stays reachable for people who have the link but is hidden from search engines.
  • Projects you post — the title, description, stages, budget range and AI preference are public so experts can send proposals. The client's contact details are not shown.
  • Your services and reviews.

What stays private

  • Your phone number and e-mail address are never shown publicly. Only when a proposal is accepted do the client and the selected expert see each other's contact details. Rejected or other experts cannot see them.
  • Your messages are only between you and the person you are writing to.
  • Your password is stored with one-way hashing (bcrypt); nobody can see it.

Payment details

Serbest İş does not take payments and does not ask for card or bank details. Payments are made directly between the parties. If anyone asks you for payment details through the Platform, please let us know.

AI and your data

When you post a project you choose one of three options for AI usage: AI may be used, only models running on the expert's own server (your data is not sent to services abroad), or no AI. Experts who send proposals must follow this choice. If you are going to share documents containing personal data or trade secrets, choose accordingly.

With the "AI may be used" option, your listing text (title, description, stages) is sent to an AI-based automatic translation service (the provider may be outside Türkiye) to be shown in the site's other language; your name, phone, e-mail, proposals and messages are not sent. With the other two options your listing is not translated. Details: privacy notice.

Security

  • Site traffic is encrypted (HTTPS); Cloudflare is used for network security.
  • Human verification (a math question or Cloudflare Turnstile) is used at login and sign-up to prevent automated attacks.
  • Accounts found to be abusing the Platform are suspended and their sessions are closed.

Cookies

Only cookies necessary for the site to work are used. Details: Cookie Policy.
