LGS exam preparation is private tutoring and guidance for final-year middle-school students taking the central exam in Türkiye's high-school transition system. Across its verbal and numerical sections, the exam covers Turkish, mathematics, science, history of the Turkish Republic, religious culture and a foreign language, and its questions rely more on reading comprehension, interpretation and skills than on memorisation. At this age, managing exam anxiety, building steady study habits and working together with the family are also key parts of preparation.
What to check when hiring for LGS exam preparation
- Share the student's school grades, practice-test results and difficult subjects with the tutor.
- Choose a tutor experienced with the newer, skill-based question style.
- Follow the Ministry of National Education's current official announcements for exam scope, dates and placement rules.
- Keep the workload suitable for the student's age and leave room for rest and social time.
- If exam anxiety is significant, consider talking to the school counselling service or a specialist.
LGS exam preparation: frequently asked questions
Which skill matters most in the LGS?
Reading long passages carefully and understanding exactly what each question asks is decisive in almost every subject, so regular reading and paragraph practice help across the board.
Is tutoring or coaching better for LGS?
Tutoring suits gaps in specific subjects; coaching suits planning and motivation problems. Some students benefit from both together.
How can I support a child with exam anxiety?
Set realistic goals, discuss practice results without blame and protect regular sleep and rest. If the anxiety is intense, seek support from the school counsellor or a specialist.
